Seven Minutes of World Peace 2020

Seven Minutes of WorldPeace

What does peace do?
Peace blossoms.
What else?
Peace spreads.
What else?
Peace illumines.
What else?
Peace fulfils.

– Sri Chinmoy

To all those who joined with others around the world this year in seven minutes of simultaneous meditation, prayer or simply a heartfelt yearning for peace – thank you!

Seven Minutes of World Peace is a soulful prelude to the United Nations Peace Bell Ceremony, which itself “rings in” the International Day of Peace on September 21. It is an outgrowth of Sri Chinmoy’s vision that: If we can invoke Peace and then offer it to somebody else, we will see how Peace expands from one to two persons, and gradually to the world at large.”

Inaugurated in 1984 by Sri Chinmoy: The Peace Meditation at the United Nations, numerous individuals and groups from around the world have participated in this programme, and letters and proclamations have been offered by Heads of State, governors and mayors.
